Top 10 Most Common OSHA & Infection Control Violations in the Dent
Presented by Alyssa Aberle, MBA, RDH, CDIPC
Many dental teams fear the day they may have an OSHA or Dental Board inspection. Compliance with OSHA, CDC guidelines, and Dental Board rules and regulations are manageable with the right systems in place. In this course, we’ll discuss the most common violations that are cited by both OSHA and the Colorado Dental Board and how practices can avoid these common mistakes.
Objectives:
- Establish resources for dental teams to learn and understand OSHA standards, CDC guidelines, and dental board rules and regulations
- Review common violations seen by the Colorado Dental Board and OSHA when inspecting dental practices
- Discuss how offices can implement systems to educate their dental teams, practice more efficiently, and ensure patient safety
Ms. Alyssa Aberle is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine's dental hygiene program. Alyssa has spent her dental hygiene career working with several local nonprofit organizations. She has a Certificate in Dental Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC) and works with dental teams to provide annual OSHA and infection control training, audit preparation, and consulting to help implement better infection prevention practices for their patients. Ms. Aberle's background as the Infection Control Coordinator for a large multi-site community health center gives her expertise in implementing systems to efficiently provide safe care.
Please note: This course is not intended to meet the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens annual training requirement as outlined in the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. This course is intended to be a “closer look” at a specific infection control-related topic to supplement the annual OSHA training required for all employees in your practice.
