Hands-on: Bone Grafting
Presented by Dr. Brian Gurinsky
HANDS-ON Fundamentals of Bone Grafting and Socket Preservation, Level I - Day One
Today, conscientious clinicians are obtaining predictable results in grafting fresh extraction sockets for ridge preservation by utilizing the newest bone replacement materials and guided tissue membranes. Dr. Gurinsky teaches the differences between graft materials, as well as which materials to use when, where, and why. Using anatomical models, participants will practice the technique of grafting a socket with a damaged or missing facial plate. Participants also will learn how to treat the challenging maxillary posterior with osteotomes and a sinus bump.
Simple flap designs and suturing techniques will increase the success of these surgeries and reduce the risk of complications. These procedures ultimately result in improved esthetics, simplified prosthetics and importantly, happy patients. This 7-hour hands-on training will get you on your way to introducing hard and soft tissue regeneration into your practice.
HANDS-ON: Bone Grafting and Sinus Elevation, Level II - Day Two
Dr. Gurinsky begins this course by reviewing the basics of bone grafting materials, membranes and the instrumentation required for successful regenerative procedures. He discusses the challenging deficient esthetic zone and the onlay, or horizontal bone graft, and participants will practice on anatomical models.
Two particularly important components of Intermediate Bone Grafting Training are lateral approach sinus elevation, which is necessary for implant placement in the area of a pneumatized sinus, as well as the mini implant option. Dr. Gurinsky also covers advanced flap designs, suturing techniques and grafting perio defects. This 7-hour hands-on course will greatly enhance your knowledge of, and experience in, bone grafting and guided tissue regeneration.
NOTE: HANDS-ON Fundamentals of Bone Grafting and Socket Preservation, Level I - Day One is not a prerequisite for taking Level II but is recommended.

For your convenience, we have free parking in two retail garages within the Beauvallon building (east-facing side). Both garages are accessed from Lincoln Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. Parking in these garages is available on a first-come, first-served basis. **If you are attending a large course/event at the MWDI, we recommend arriving early in case the garages fill and alternative parking must be secured. Be aware - the garages come up quickly after you cross 9th Avenue and both have left lane entrances. All numbered spaces within both retail parking garages (without "Reserved" signs) are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Do not park in any spaces with a red sign that says "Matrix" or “KCNC.” Do not park in the residential parking. Residential garages are at the back of the retail garages. The north and south garages are not connected. Both have open parking available.
