Register today for Attainment Oregon: Creating Student Ready Colleges being held July 27, 2022.
Join Oregon’s college and university leaders and student success experts for a day of discussion and planning to address Oregon’s postsecondary student success agenda for 2023 and beyond.
For Oregon to achieve its postsecondary attainment goals, public colleges and universities need to execute a broad, yet focused, set of strategies to make themselves “student ready.” Many of these strategies are underway across the state—though some only exist in pockets.
As the Oregon Legislature’s Task Force on Underrepresented Students in Higher Education crosses the state listening to student voices, the state’s public colleges and universities must also come together to articulate a strategic, statewide student success agenda which will support more students to enter, persist, and successfully complete postsecondary education.
The strategies comprising a student-ready agenda must be diverse enough to meet the range of needs facing Oregon communities and they must be sufficiently coordinated to ensure that they are contributing toward the state’s objective of Oregonians completing credentials and providing “equitable opportunities to build trajectories to family-wage careers.”
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Attendees will establish a common discourse statewide about the importance of investing strategically in colleges and universities with a clear plan for creating “Student Ready Colleges” in order to meet the state’s postsecondary attainment goals.
- Attendees will leave with a common understanding of how their specific work is tied to a larger plan achieving the state’s postsecondary attainment goals.
Who should attend?
Colleges and universities are encouraged to bring teams of college leaders, campus advocacy coordinators, and student-facing practitioners. The meeting will also feature community-based organizations that are crucial collaborators in serving students as well as philanthropic partners that support higher education in Oregon.
