The Kickoff Institute is designed to prepare college teams to begin or intensify the process of transformative, institutional improvement.Attendees will be introduced to the Institutional Capacity Framework and Assessment Tool and will also work with their leadership and data coaches to begin planning for the integration and alignment of their student success work into a single cohesive effort. Colleges will see how to use the Capacity Framework and hear practical examples of how colleges have built capacity in each area. Teams will return to campus with clear next steps for building out the plan with an expanded campus team and an understanding of how to move the work forward.

By the end of the Kickoff Institute your team should be able to:
  • Understand how to use Achieving the Dream’s Institutional Capacity Framework to build capacity for planning and implementing integrated, holistic student success reforms.
  • Communicate what you have learned with the rest of your colleagues upon your return to campus.
  • Develop a plan of essential next steps in advance of your college’s first coaching site visit.

The Kickoff Preview Experience is offered each year to select number of prospective network colleges. The Kickoff Preview Experience provides college teams the opportunity to: learn about ATD’s Institutional Capacity Framework and Assessment Tool and how it creates the foundation for change necessary for building and strengthening a student-focused culture; see firsthand how new colleges plan use the Capacity Framework as an organizing tool to align their student success initiatives; meet with an experienced coach; and connect with peers
from other colleges and meet with ATD staff.
