AI Workshop Series:
Opportunities for Exploration and Learning


ATD is offering a comprehensive series of four online workshops exploring the role of artificial intelligence (AI)-informed innovation in community colleges. These workshops, offered as a set of four as well as individually, will delve into the key topics of equity, K–12 partnerships, holistic student supports, and teaching and learning practices. Each session is designed to foster a deep understanding of how AI can be leveraged to enhance educational experiences while addressing its inherent challenges and ensuring equitable access. The workshops will take place from September 2024 to April 2025. Throughout the workshops, we will emphasize the following connecting themes: 

  • Inclusive Access to AI: Ensuring all students and educators have the resources and knowledge to benefit from AI technologies 

  • Student-Centered Practices: Focusing on how AI can be used to meet the diverse needs of our students 

  • Whole College Transformation: Exploring the ways that AI can support the transformational journey of your college and community 


Webinar Series Dates
September 16, 2024, 1:003:00 p.m. EST 

AI Workshop Series: Ensuring Inclusive Learning Experiences

In the first workshop, we will explore how innovative AI tools and techniques can be leveraged to support diverse learning needs. Join us to learn how to harness AI inside the classroom to create personalized and accessible educational environments for all students.

 

At the conclusion of this workshop, you will be able to do the following:

  • Craft AI prompts that consider and address diverse learning needs, cultural backgrounds, and abilities
  • Recognize common types of biases that can appear in AI-generated content and the potential impact on learning experiences
  • Develop a framework for evaluating the equity and accessibility of AI-powered educational resources and applications
  • Interrogate AI-generated content and learn strategies to limit biased responses

AI Workshop Series: Strengthening College and Career Exploration in Dual Enrollment

The second interactive workshop will focus on the transformative potential of AI in K–college programs, specifically focusing on career and technical education (CTE) in dual enrollment. We will explore AI as an essential tool in preparing dually enrolled students for future careers.

AI Workshop Series: Enhancing Student Supports

The third workshop in the series will explore how AI can enhance support services by complementing human capabilities, ultimately improving the student experience. Together we will discuss the potential benefits and challenges of using AI in enrollment management, financial aid, advising, and more.

AI Workshop Series: Enhancing Teaching and Learning

In the final workshop, we will explore the exciting potential of AI integration in the classroom. We will interact with AI tools that can revolutionize personalized learning and course design while engaging in thoughtful conversation about the responsible uses of AI in education.
